Indonesia’s state-run energy corporation, Pertamina, is set to invest USD 1.5 bln in a partnership with Kenya’s Geothermal Development Corporation. President Ruto sees potential for Indonesia to establish a crude palm oil refinery in Kenya, serving the regional market. Both nations are currently negotiating a preferential trade agreement and a bilateral investment treaty, expected to be finalized in the coming three months. Mr. Ruto expressed Kenya’s ambition to export 100k livestock to Indonesia annually.
