Laos

Laos reported a slight decrease in inflation to 25.69% in September from 25.88% the prior month. That sustained high inflation results from factors such as the Lao kip’s devaluation, partly driven by labor emigration due to low domestic wages. Although the government recently raised the minimum wage, it’s still considered inadequate against the currency’s depreciation. The PM’s plan focuses on promoting and overseeing foreign investments to strengthen FX reserves.
