According to Sri Lankan president Wickremesinghe, the country aims to have a debt restructuring framework by May. The president held virtual meetings with finance ministers from France, Japan, and India and sees progress on debt restructuring with the Paris Club. The cabinet has also approved borrowing USD 150 mln from the World Bank to strengthen deposit insurance and empowered the treasury secretary to discuss a loan of USD 350 mln with the ADB linked to the IMF program.
