Sri Lanka’s inflation rate fell for the tenth consecutive month to 6.3% in July, a decrease from 12% the previous month, primarily driven by food inflation falling for the first time since 2019 to 1.4% (compared to 4.1% in June). Non-food item inflation also slowed (10.5% vs. 16.2%). Consumer prices dropped by 1.1% MoM following a flat reading in June. Meanwhile, core inflation eased to 6.1% from 9.1% in the prior month.
