Sri Lanka has made a second payment of USD 100 mln towards the USD 200 mln it borrowed from Bangladesh as part of a currency swap agreement made during its financial crisis in 2021. Despite the payment being more than a year and a half delayed, Bangladesh’s central bank expressed optimism that the remaining amount would be settled by September.
