Thailand’s PM, Srettha Thavisin, announced cuts in retail electricity and diesel prices as part of new measures to ease the cost of living and stimulate economic growth. Electricity prices will be reduced by 7.9%, and diesel prices will also be lowered. These steps align with Srettha’s Pheu Thai Party’s pre-election pledges and aim to counter sluggish economic growth, partly driven by declining demand from China and lower-than-expected tourism revenue.
