The New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) secured a majority in Azerbaijan’s snap parliamentary elections, capturing at least 62 of 125 seats according to exit polls. Independent candidates won 43 seats. The elections were moved forward from November to avoid overlap with the UN’s COP conference. Official results are awaited from the Central Electoral Commission.
