S&P Ratings raised its 2026 growth forecast for Azerbaijan from 1.5% to 2.0%, while keeping its 2025 expectation at 2.0%. The agency commented that the banking sector in Azerbaijan should grow 15% this year, and that while declining oil production will be a drag on growth, non-oil sector growth is providing a buffer against volatile oil incomes.
