Azerbaijan and Armenia said a truce appeared to be holding after border clashes killed more than 200 troops on both sides. Armenia mentioned the situation remained ‘very tense’ in separate calls with Blinken, Putin, and Macron. According to Azerbaijan’s president, the two countries should negotiate a peace treaty without ‘artificial delays’, including mutual recognition of their territorial integrity. Separately, the Azeri central bank held interest rates at 7.75%, despite maintaining a high inflation forecast of 12.5% in 2022.
