The UK is expanding economic, trade, and transport sanctions imposed against Belarus for the latter’s continued active facilitation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, including import and export bans on goods. According to a Monday government statement, the UK is also limiting Belarus’ access to the financial service sectors by banning Belarusian companies from issuing debt and securities in London. Belarus has actively supported the invasion, particularly by allowing Russia to use its territory to launch troops and missiles and letting Russian jets fly through its airspace.
