Georgia

Inflation in Georgia was significantly low, recording 2.7% YoY and 0.7% MoM, below the central bank’s 3% target and the lowest rate since December 2020, marking the longest downward streak in 14 years. It is worth noting that there was a considerable base effect in these numbers due to last year’s CPI spike. The central bank meets on May 10th, where expectations are for the bank to begin its easing cycle, as it has been on hold since Q1-2022.
