Trade talks between Kazakhstan and the US have begun, on the 27% tariffs that were imposed by the US in early April. Kazakhstan has chosen not to retaliate against the US tariffs. Further, the Kazakh parliament has approved the new tax code, which will include a rise in VAT from 12% to 16%, with some exceptions, and some corporate and personal tax rate increases.
