In CIS data, Georgia’s trade deficit shrank to USD 668.4 mln in June, with May’s numbers revised to reflect a surplus of USD 679 mln. In Azerbaijan, economic growth decelerated to 0.5% YoY in H1 2023. For the same period, growth in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 3.9% YoY. Additionally, the central bank disclosed data indicating that it had sold USD 43.5 mln in the FX market on July 12th to support the som, bringing the total number of FX interventions to ten this year and a total of USD 547 mln.
