Kyrgyzstan’s central bank held its benchmark interest rate at 13.0%, the same level since November 2022. The bank commented on the downward trend of inflation, which reached 9.4% in August. Inflation is slowing due to declining food prices, while non-food goods and services prices remain sticky. In H1 2023, real GDP growth reached 2.9%. The bank sees inflation retracting to its 5-7% target range over the medium term.
