Mongolia signed a preliminary deal with France’s Orano Mining Group for a USD 1.6 bln uranium mining project. The project, requiring an initial USD 500 mln investment, is expected to start production in 2028 after a preparatory phase from 2024 to 2027. Separately, Mongolia’s FX reserves hit a record high of USD 5.5 bln by the end of 2024.
