Georgia

Georgia’s inflation continued to slow in August, with the CPI rising by just 0.3% MoM. That led to an annual inflation rate of 0.6%, down from 1% in July, well below the central bank’s 3% target. Separately, the Georgian parliament speaker signed into law a controversial bill severely restricting LGBTQ+ rights after the President refused to sign it the previous day. The bill mirrors similar legislation in Russia.
