Russia

Russia has been redirecting its oil exports from European customers, who are now blocked by sanctions, to Asia, thereby reshaping the global oil trade and challenging the market share of its OPEC+ allies. India and China have increasingly turned to Russia’s more affordable crude oil. Indian imports of Middle Eastern oil have fallen by 35% to about 1.9 mln barrels per day since January 2022, while Russian imports have surged to the same volume in April. Additionally, China’s imports of Russian crude have grown by 80% since early 2022.
