Crude oil prices rose to USD 83 per barrel on Friday, a peak not seen in the past four months, following Saudi Arabia’s and Russia’s announcement to carry forward their discretionary production curtailments into the subsequent month. Specifically, Saudi Arabia pledged to continue its one mln bpd production cut for another month. In a parallel move, Russia intends to diminish its oil exports by 300,000 bpd starting September.
