Serbia’s National Assembly approved government-proposed amendments to the 2024 budget to boost infrastructure, defense, and social spending. After the amendments, the planned budget deficit is expected to reach 2.9% of GDP, up from 2.2%. The amendments are partly due to stronger-than-expected revenues and broader growth, even though spending increased. The budget remains fully funded for the year after strong earlier issuance.
