Serbia

Serbia president, Vucic, has indicated the possibility of conducting early parliamentary elections by September of this year at the latest. He is expected to provide further details about the potential vote during the ruling SPS party’s assembly on May 26th. President Vucic and his party have faced substantial criticism in the aftermath of two mass shootings that transpired earlier this month. In response to the escalating criticism, Mr. Vucic has expressed openness to a significant reshuffling of the government or even the prospect of early elections. These issues are slated for discussion at the SPS party congress on May 26th. Without these developments, the next elections were not due until 2026.
