Serbia

Serbia’s spy chief, Aleksandar Vulin, a close associate of the president and the director of the security information agency, has been sanctioned by the US treasury for his alleged involvement in drug and weapons trafficking and for aiding Russia in destabilizing the region. However, the Serbian president downplayed these allegations, arguing that Vulin’s support for the Kremlin is what prompted the US measures. In other news, inflation in Serbia has risen less than expected, though it still increased by 13.7% YoY.
