Fitch upgraded Argentina’s long-term rating from CC to CCC, eight notches below investment grade, citing expectations that the government will meet its hard-currency bond payments. The Argentine treasury recently bought USD 2.7 bln from the central bank to cover upcoming bond payments and is negotiating a credit line with international banks. Argentina has USD 4.3 bln due in January for USD bonds.
