Argentina

Argentina allowed oil and gas companies to exchange 25% of their export USD at the blue-chip swap rate, rather than the official rate, for the next 60 days. The blue-chip rate stood at about 760 pesos per USD, contrasting the official rate of 350 pesos. Patricia Bullrich from Argentina’s pro-business opposition has proposed a dual currency system, wherein the peso and USD would be accepted if she became president. In a recent primary vote, Bullrich’s coalition trailed Milei, securing about 28% to Milei’s 30%.
