Brazil annual inflation rate dropped significantly to 3.94% in May from 4.18% in the prior month, the lowest level in two and a half years. That will likely increase pressure on the central bank to ease monetary policy in the upcoming months. However, the policymakers maintain that it’s too soon to lower the benchmark Selic rate from 13.75%, its highest level in six years.
