Costa Rica

Costa Rica’s current account surplus rose to USD 144.5 mln, a positive shift from the prior year’s deficit of USD 102.6 mln during the same period, mainly driven by a significant 47% surge in the services account surplus and a 10.9% reduction in the goods account gap. Moreover, the primary account deficit expanded to USD 1.1 bln. Still, it declined from the preceding year’s USD 1.48 bln.
