Guatemala will accept 40% more deportation flights from the US and support migrants in transit to their home countries, excluding criminals. The country has launched a reintegration program to place deportees in jobs and has received US aid to expand infrastructure for this initiative. Remittances from Guatemalans in the US reached a record USD 21 bln last year, 17% of its GDP.
