Tanzania imposed a ban on agricultural imports from Malawi and South Africa, effective April 24, in retaliation for trade restrictions. The dispute has disrupted trade at the Kasumulu crossing. Agriculture Minister Hussein Bashe said the move was necessary to protect Tanzania’s business interests.
