Angola’s annual inflation rate rose to 13.54% in August from 12.12% in July, the highest since December 2022, mainly driven by the depreciation of the kwanza and a government decision to reduce fuel subsidies, which has led to rising gasoline prices. Consumer prices rose 2.04% MoM in July, following a 1.6% rise in June.
