Botswana

Botswana’s budget deficit for the current fiscal year is expected to more than double to 18.6 bln pula (USD 1.4 bln), or 6.7% of GDP, due to a sharp decline in diamond revenues. Originally, the deficit was forecast at 8.7 bln pula, or 2.8% of GDP. Mineral revenues are now projected to fall to 8.7 bln pula from the earlier estimate of 25.2 billion pula.
