DR Congo reported over 400 cases of a mysterious flu-like illness called “Disease X” in the Panzi health zone since late October. Symptoms include fever, headache, and cough. At least ten new cases and one death were reported on December 6, raising concerns that the true death toll may be higher. The WHO has dispatched a rapid response team.
