Ghanaian commercial banks have restarted imposing fees on foreign exchange accounts following a pause due to regulatory pressure. That includes a USD 5 fee for dollar accounts with balances over USD 100, in addition to a 3% withdrawal charge. This change follows the central bank’s increase in the cash reserve ratio, leading banks to offset the higher regulatory costs by passing them on to depositors.
