Ghana and the IMF have reached a staff-level agreement for an additional USD 360 mln in funding, pending final approval by the IMF board in December. This would bring Ghana’s total funding to USD 1.92 bln under the USD 3 bln bailout program initiated in May 2023. Ghana sought IMF assistance after it became unable to service its debts, initiating a debt restructuring in December 2022.
