Ghana’s inflation rate eased slightly to 53.6% in January from a more than two-decade high of 54.1% in December, aided by a strengthening local currency. Non-food inflation slowed to 47.1% from 49.9% in December, while food prices rose to 61% from 59.7%. Separately, Fitch lowered Ghana’s long-term local currency rating to RD from C, while it affirmed the foreign-currency debt rating at C.
