In 2022, Ghana’s FDI inflows decreased by 42.3% to USD 1.5 bln from USD 2.6 bln in 2021. However, greenfield project announcements went up by 39%. Six out of the 15 greenfield investments in 2022 were in Africa. In Nigeria, FDI flows turned negative at – USD 187 mln due to equity divestments, but greenfield projects increased by 24% to USD 2 bln. Senegal’s FDI flows remained stable at USD 2.6 bln.
