The IMF staff and Guinea Bissau authorities reached a preliminary agreement supporting the third review of the ECF program. Pending approval from the fund’s executive board, this would grant Guinea Bissau access to about UD 8.1 mln. Despite mixed program performance due to socio-political challenges, structural reforms have shown commendable progress. The new government remains dedicated to the policies of the IMF-supported program.
