Kenya’s public debt reached KES 10.8 tln (USD 83.5 bln) at the end of September, up from KES 10.6 tln a year earlier. This was driven by external loan disbursements, exchange-rate fluctuations, and the uptake of domestic debt. Domestic debt rose 14% to KES 5.6 tln, while external liabilities grew 5% YoY to USD 40.2 bln.
