Namibia

Namibia’s central bank cut its key interest rate by 25 bps to 7.25%. Namibia’s currency is pegged to the South African rand, generally aligning its monetary policy with the South African Reserve Bank. However, its rate has diverged when inflation or economic growth paths differ between the two nations, with Namibia’s rate now 75 bps lower. Inflation in Namibia fell to 3.4% in September from 4.4% in August, prompting a revised outlook by the central bank.
