Tanzania

The World Bank’s IDA has approved a USD 300 mln loan to Tanzania. This funding is projected to aid around 300,000 Tanzanian farmers in adopting resilient technology and practices to boost productivity and enable access to assets and services for about 1.8 mln additional farmers. Meanwhile, to address a USD shortage and preserve financial stability, Tanzania’s central bank has placed restrictions on foreign-currency dealings, banning unlicensed international currency brokers and mandating large FX transactions to be traded within the interbank FX market.
