Ayachi Zammel, head of Tunisia’s opposition Azimoun party and one of President Kais Saied’s two electoral challengers, was sentenced to three more years in prison for forgery just days before the presidential vote. Zammel denies the accusations but is currently being tried in 35 separate cases.
