Tunisia’s economy minister, Samir Saied, asserted that the agreement with the IMF remains pivotal. Without such an agreement or an alternative, Tunisia’s sovereign rating would be low, Mr. Saied warned. In a session examining Tunisia’s accession to the agreement that establishes the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), the minister stated that Tunisia could not resort to the international market for debt, highlighting the necessity of the agreement to implement the development plan.
