Zambia inflation rate returned to double digits for the first time in eleven months in April, as the kwacha’s sharp depreciation, fueled by slow progress in debt restructuring negotiations, seeped into import prices. Annual inflation quickened to 10.2% in April from 9.9% in March. Food prices rose 11.6% YoY in April from 11.8% in March, and non-food inflation increased to 8.3% from 7.3%. Prices rose 0.9% MoM, compared with 1% in March.
