Zambia

Barrick Gold Corp announced nearly USD 2 bln in investments to transform the Lumwana mine in Zambia into a super pit, aiming to make the formerly unprofitable copper project viable, with expanded production set for 2028. Barrick aspires for copper to comprise 30% of its total profit by the decade’s close, chiefly from Lumwana and the USD 7 bln Reko Diq project in Pakistan.
